MYTHICAL SEA CREATURES

  BUNYIPS

- Makes a comfortable home in terrible circumstances

Bunyips were a type of dragon native to Australia, and had been likened by eyewitness to a seal, foal, emu, sea cow, bulldog, and of course, a dragon. The mothers were very easily angered, and if you had stolen its calf, you would find yourself turned into a black swan.

According to Aboriginal legend, Bunyips are creatures that lurk in swamps, billabongs, creeks, riverbeds, and waterholes. They emerge at night, making terrifying, blood-curdling cries, and devour any animal or human that dare venture near its abode.

  KAPPA

- Always wears a mask of friendship

a type of water sprite found in Japanese folklore

Most depictions show kappa as child-sized humanoids, though their bodies are often more like those of monkeys or frogs than human beings. Some descriptions say their faces are apelike, while others show them with beaked visages more like those of tortoises or with duck beaks. Pictures usually show kappa with thick shells and scaly skin that ranges in color from green to yellow or blue.

Kappa are usually seen as mischievous troublemakers. Their pranks range from the relatively innocent, such as loudly passing gas or looking up women's kimonos, to the more troublesome, such as stealing crops

Once befriended, kappa have been known to perform any number of tasks for human beings, such as helping farmers irrigate their land.

  KRAKEN

- Outwardly appears harmless

The Kraken is a gigantic version of the giant squid. It has limited color-changing ability, and shares a mutual predator-prey relationship with beaked whales. It has been known to attack large metahuman ships and ocean platforms, but tends to attack only at night due to an aversion to sunlight.

The Kraken of Scandinavian lore was a horned sea monster so huge that it was sometimes mistaken for a group of islands when motionless and could reach as high as the top of a sailing ship's main mast with its arms deployed. The back of a fully grown Kraken was about one and a half miles long.

In folklore, the mermaid is frequently described as appearing above the surface of the water and combing her long hair with one hand while holding a mirror in the other.

FROGS - Attract friends to your house along with good luck

  DOLPHINS

- Dolphins are widely believed to be amongst the most intelligent of all animals often leaping above the water surface, sometimes performing acrobatic figures (e.g. the spinner dolphin). This and other behaviour is interpreted as playing. They are capable of diving up to 260 m deep and 15 min long, but rarely stay underwater longer than few minutes. Frequently dolphins will accompany boats, riding the bow waves. They are also famous for their willingness to occasionally approach humans and interact with them in the water. In return, in some cultures like in Ancient Greece they were treated with welcome; a ship spotting dolphins riding in their wake was considered a good omen for a smooth voyage.

Dolphins are social animals, living in so called schools of up to a dozen animals. In places with high abundance of food, schools can join temporarily forming aggregations of over 1000 dolphins. The individuals communicate using a variety of klicks, whistles and other vocalizations. They also use ultrasonic sounds for echolocation.
